Home at last

Greetings readers. Yesterday afternoon I finally touched down back in Australia after 5 weeks and 4 days on the road (although 3 of those days included Sydney, I was a visitor on that occasion). I had been variously vomitting and exploding from the other end continuously for the past 10 days. But, almost magically, as soon as I touched down at Sydney Airport my ailments appear to have disappered. I think a less mystical explanation for this must be the good bacteria in Urban Nomad's Yakult which I had just before leaving Hong Kong on Friday. It must have vanquished the bad bacteria once and for all.

I calculated that my travels included visits to 11 cities in 37 days. I wrote a fairly extensive diary for most of the initial 18 days. After that there was my brother's wedding to attend to (and my sickness) which slowed the writing rate down dramatically. Over the coming weeks I hope to reproduce my memories of what has been a most exciting and interesting journey - from Melbourne to Sydney, from Sydney to Hong Kong, and from Hong Kong to Karachi; then Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Torkham, Peshawar, Islamabad/Khairagali, Lahore, Karachi, and finally Hong Kong again.

Right this very moment I am awfully tired. Nevertheless, I ought to say it's good to be back. Please take care, and I hope to hear from you, and write for you, soon.

Syed-M.
